This is absolutely true. I shot on a T3i for a long time. In fact my reel is mostly T3i footage currently and nobody at the big production companies questioned what camera I was using when I sent them my reel. Just whether I was union or not.

All 10 points are absolutely correct and if you practice your technique you can make almost any camera look like another. Then when you get the high end cameras you can apply the same principles and make that high end camera shine. I have a Red and it looks worse than my T3i in side by side comparisons. Those kind of tests are shooting eng video with cinema cameras. The test is just as worthless as the camera is to the tester.

Thanks Jeremy! Remember, you can get cheap units and practice plenty. At the very least get lots of reflectors that have black one side and start playing with controlling/cutting light. That’s a big step right there.
